EDI Level 4 Diploma for the V&A Assistant Curator Programme (QCF)

To achieve the qualification, the candidate must complete four mandatory units:

Qualification Overview:

The purpose and aim of the qualification is to develop the skills of the Assistant Curatorial to enable them to progress to the role of Curator. The qualification is based on a 5 year programme, which covers management of information, working with collections, communication skills and audience research and evaluation.

Qualification Structure:

To complete the Level 4 Diploma for the V&A Assistant Curator Programme, learners must complete the six mandatory units:

Mandatory Units

  • Unit1 Introduction to working in the cultural heritage sector
  • Unit 2 Communication and presentation skills in the cultural heritage sector
  • Unit 3 Management of information in the cultural heritage sector
  • Unit 4 Working with the collections in the cultural heritage sector
  • Unit 5 Developing professional expertise within the cultural heritage sector
  • Unit 6 The museum visitor and audience development in the cultural heritage sector
